Mustelidae
The family the book meets almost entirely as fur. Five entries hang here, and the English names the book sets for them are not interchangeable: Martes zibellina the sable, of the Kolyma forest and of the Cossack tribute; Martes americana the marten, which Bogoras says at 1-078 reached the Anyui fair from the American shore and from nowhere in Asia; Mustela erminea the ermine, trapped at home and worn as an amulet; Gulo gulo the wolverene; and Lutrinae the otter, which the page never resolves to river or sea.
The book has no word for the family, and nothing in it stands above sable and marten as one animal.
