Cape Anannon
The southwestern end of the Kerek country, which runs from here to Cape Barykoff (1-039), and the eastern limit of a line drawn from the mouth of the Indigirka (1-034).
The maps' "Cape Olutorsky" is this cape. "The Cape Olutorsky of Russian and American maps is in reality Cape Anannon, close to which are situated the first southwestern villages of the Kerek; while the real Cape Olutorsky lies close to Baron Korff's Bay (on the Russian maps, Cape Govensky)" (1-032, repeated in 1-359's note 2). The book's own map bears him out: ANANNON CAPE is drawn on this headland and ALUTORSKY CAPE some 230 km west, on Korf Bay. So the coordinate above is the cape modern charts call Мыс Олюторский, and the GeoNames feature of that name hangs here rather than on Cape Olutorsky. That is Bogoras's identification, asserted against the maps and carried by this edition, not a fact the GeoNames entry states.
