Dezhnyovo
"ᴇnmɪtaˊhɪn ('cliff's end'): 6 houses (Register, 8 houses, 42 inhabitants). The people are Nɵˊɵkalɪt Eskimo" (1-052) — one of the two villages on that page Bogoras assigns to the Naukans, the other being Naukan itself. Located by the editor on Bogoras's own map, and corresponds to the Soviet village of Dezhnyovo, whose name this entry takes since the settlement outlived the book under it.
Not Enmytagyn, which 1-052 spells Ot-ᴇnmɪtaˊhɪn, "cliff's end of Uˊten". Bogoras gives the same gloss to both and they are some 45 km apart on opposite coasts: this one stands on the Pacific side south of East Cape among Naukan people, and that one on the Arctic shore west of Uelen, in the stretch where "all the villages belong to the Chukchee tribe." Two cliffs, two peoples, one printed gloss.
